FAQ
Dr Zaheer Cajee
It’s advisable to visit the paediatrician regularly especially for infants and not just at the time of a severe illness. Well-child visits occur periodically at least every 3 months in the first year of life. In infants these visits are to monitor your child’s growth and development .Certain conditions like Hip dislocation, Dysplasia, Hearing impairment and head growth need to be detected early to ensure good outcomes.
What happens at a well-child visit? You can ask the paediatrician questions related to your child’s, development, nutrition, and behaviour at a well-child visit. Well infants should visit routinely until four years. Every older child should attend yearly well-child visits for a regular health checks neurological neuro development assessment as well as vaccinations.
